CHALLENGES OF LECTURE IN INDUSTRIAL ERA 4.0

This study reveals about the challenge of lecturers in educating students in Industrial era 4.0. The
results of this study reveal that lecturers in the 4.0 industry era are required to have five qualifications and
competencies. First, educational competence, Internet-based competency of Thing as basic skill in this era;
second, competence in research, networking competence to grow knowledge, research direction, and
skillfully gain international grant; third, competence for technological commercialization, has the
competence of bringing groups and students to commercialization with technology on innovation and
research results; fourth, competence in globalization, the world without insulation, not stuttering against
various cultures, hybrid competence, that is global competence and excellence in solving national problem;
and fifth, competence in future strategies, where the world is volatile and fast-paced, so it has the
competence to predict exactly what will happen in the future and its strategy, by joint-lecture, joint-research,
joint-publication, joint-lab , staff mobility and rotation, understand the direction of SDG's and industry, and
so forth.
